Terms of Service

1.1 Welcome to youbuild.sg (the “Site”), which is owned and operated by [YouBuild Pte. Ltd.] (“YouBuild”, “we”, “us”, or “our”).

1.2. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of our Site and our home renovation and related construction services (collectively, the “Services”).

1.3. By accessing or using the Site and/or engaging our Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site or our Services.

2.1. You may use our Site and engage our Services only if you:
(a) are at least 18 years old; and
(b) have the legal capacity to enter into binding contracts.

2.2. If you are engaging our Services on behalf of a company or other organisation, you represent and warrant that you are authorised to bind that entity to these Terms.

3.1. YouBuild provides home renovation and related construction services, which may include design, project management, demolition, carpentry, electrical works, plumbing, painting, and other works agreed between you and us in writing (the “Project”).

3.2. The specific scope, timeline, fees, and other details of each Project will be set out in a separate quotation, proposal, and/or contract (“Project Agreement”). If there is any inconsistency between these Terms and a Project Agreement, the Project Agreement will prevail for that Project.

3.3. We reserve the right to update or modify the Services offered on the Site at any time without prior notice.

4.1. Any quotation we provide is based on the information, drawings, and/or site conditions known to us at the time and is usually valid for the period stated in the quotation.

4.2. Our fees, payment schedule, and any deposit requirements will be set out in the applicable Project Agreement.

4.3. Unless otherwise stated, all amounts are in Singapore Dollars (SGD) and are exclusive of applicable taxes.

4.4. You agree to make payments in accordance with the payment schedule using the methods we specify. Late payments may result in a suspension or delay of the Works.

4.5. We may charge interest on overdue amounts at the rate specified in the Project Agreement or, if no rate is specified, at 1.5% per month (or the maximum amount permitted by law, if lower).

5.1. Any changes to the scope of Works, materials, design, or timeline must be agreed in writing. This may take the form of a variation order or revised quotation.

5.2. Changes or additions requested by you may affect the Project price and completion date. We will inform you of any price or timeline adjustments before proceeding, where reasonably practicable.

5.3. We reserve the right to make minor adjustments in materials, specifications, or methods of work if necessary due to availability, site conditions, or regulatory requirements, provided that such changes do not materially and adversely affect the overall quality or functionality of the Works.

6.1. You are responsible for providing us with timely access to the premises, including obtaining any required permissions from building management, landlords, or relevant authorities.

6.2. You agree to ensure that the site is reasonably safe and free from hazards that could affect our personnel or subcontractors.

6.3. You are responsible for:
(a) ensuring that any existing structures, fixtures, or systems can support the intended Works;
(b) clearly informing us of any known issues (e.g., structural weaknesses, existing defects, asbestos); and
(c) obtaining any approvals or permits that are expressly stated in the Project Agreement to be your responsibility.

7.1. We will comply with applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards in Singapore when carrying out the Works, to the extent within our control.

7.2. The Project Agreement will specify whether YouBuild or you are responsible for obtaining any permits or approvals (for example, from HDB, BCA, or town councils).

7.3. We are not responsible for delays or additional costs arising from regulatory requirements, inspections, or approvals beyond our reasonable control.

8.1. You agree not to use the Site in any way that:
(a) violates any applicable law or regulation;
(b) is fraudulent, misleading, or harmful;
(c) interferes with or disrupts the operation of the Site; or
(d) attempts to gain unauthorised access to the Site, our servers, or related systems.

8.2. You must not introduce viruses, malware, or other harmful code to the Site, or attempt to probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of any system or network related to the Site

9.1. The Site and all content on it – including text, designs, images, photographs, graphics, logos, icons, and layout (collectively, the “Content”) – are owned by or licensed to YouBuild and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

9.2. You may view and use the Content for your personal, non-commercial use only. You must not copy, reproduce, modify, distribute, transmit, display, or create derivative works from any Content without our prior written permission.

9.3. You must not remove, alter, or obscure any copyright, trademark, or other proprietary notices appearing on the Site or in the Content.

10.1. We may collect personal data when you use the Site, for example when you submit an enquiry form or contact us.

10.2. Our handling of personal data is described in our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. Please review the Privacy Policy to understand how we collect, use, and disclose personal data.

10.3. By using the Site, you consent to our collection, use, and disclosure of your personal data as described in the Privacy Policy.

11.1. The Site may contain links to third-party websites or services (for example, suppliers, partners, or inspiration sources) that are not owned or controlled by YouBuild.

11.2. We do not endorse and are not responsible for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party websites or services. You access any third-party websites at your own risk.

12.1. From time to time, we may showcase completed projects (including photographs, videos, and descriptions) on the Site and our other marketing channels.

12.2. Any such use will be in accordance with the terms of the relevant Project Agreement and our Privacy Policy. We will not publish your full residential address or sensitive personal information without your consent.

13.1. The Site and Content are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis, without any warranties of any kind, whether express or implied.

13.2. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non‑infringement.

13.3. We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, secure, or free of errors or viruses, or that any defects will be corrected.

14.1. To the maximum extent permitted by law, YouBuild and its directors, employees, and contractors shall not be liable for any:
(a) loss of profits, revenue, or business;
(b) loss of data;
(c) loss of opportunity or goodwill; or
(d) indirect, consequential, special, or punitive damages,
arising out of or in connection with your use of, or inability to use, the Site or Content.

14.2. To the extent we are liable for any direct loss or damage arising from your use of the Site, our total aggregate liability will be limited to SGD 100.

14.3. Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability that cannot be limited or excluded under applicable law.

15.1. You agree to indemnify and hold harmless YouBuild, its directors, employees, and contractors from and against any claims, losses, damages, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including legal fees on an indemnity basis) arising out of or in connection with:
(a) your breach of these Terms; or
(b) your misuse of the Site.

16.1. We may update, modify, or remove any part of the Site or Content at any time without notice.

16.2. We may also update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.

16.3. Your continued use of the Site after changes to these Terms are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree to the changes, you should stop using the Site.

17.1. These Terms and any non-contractual obligations arising out of or in connection with them are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Singapore.

17.2. You and YouBuild agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Singapore in relation to any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms or your use of the Site.
